Welcome to the 5 day Reset.

The 5 day Reset is the best way to begin your journey of improving your health. Eating a diet that is strictly low-glycemic for 5 days is the best way to get off the blood sugar "roller coaster" and get rid of the cravings.  By the end of 5 days you'll have more energy, and be off to a head start in your journey to a healthier, more fit body!

Each day during the 5 day Reset should look like this:

  • Breakfast: Nutrimeal Shake
  • Late Morning: Healthy Snack (follow our guide)
  • Early Afternoon: Nutrimeal Shake
  • Late Afternoon: Healthy Snack (follow our guide)
  • Early Evening: Nutrimeal Shake

Make sure to spread the shakes and snacks out evenly throughout the day. Eating every 2 to 3 hours is best.

Add one serving of fruit and unlimited vegetables during the day if you feel hungry. Try not to overcook your vegetables, raw and lightly steamed is best as cooking can sometimes increase the glycemic index.

Adding your serving of fruit, frozen or fresh, to the nutrimeal shake adds variety. Try making your shake with ice for a more frozen treat or warm the chocolate nutrimeal for a hot drink.

Strongly recommend you journal throughout these 5 days, recording how you feel, and noting the times anything that triggers hunger or cravings.

Most importantly, do not go hungry during the 5 days. If you still feel hungry after adding the "veggies" and fruit, add a small handful of nuts, hummus or a boiled egg to your diet.

Be sure to drink lots of water!  Keep a water bottle handy and drink the equivalent of at least 6 - 8 large glasses throughout the day. Not only does this help keep with the "detox", it also keeps you from becoming dehydrated during this time.

If you exercise during the "Reset", keep it to a light or moderate pace. Save any "heavy" workout until after the Reset is finished.

Avoiding coffee completely is best. If you are a heavy coffee drinker and are concerned about withdrawal, limit your intake to 1 cup / day. Alternatively, try drinking "green" tea (which also contains caffeine) instead.

As your body gets rid of toxins you may feel unwell.  This is normal.  Review the email regarding "detox" reactions and let your USANA associate know if you have any concerns.

Make sure to contact us by DM via facebook, if you have any concerns or questions.
