I believe strongly that women can be empowered to regain their health.
This is something I am very passionate about and I often speak on this topic in both Canada and the US. I have dedicated my life to helping women attain optimal wellness by educating and empowering them to choose health every day. I am also privileged to enjoy exuberant energy and great health myself. But it wasn’t always this way.

I grew up in a household where being overweight was frowned upon. As a child I remember being embarrassed and putting myself down because of my weight. Even at that young age, I was encouraged to go on multiple diets. Things changed when I discovered running and carrots in high school. Running to burn extra calories and carrots to calm my appetite. I was young enough that these crazy ideas worked.
After graduating from high school, I decided to become a physician. I had always had an innate interest in health and serving others. On the one hand I loved what I was learning; on the other hand the stress of medical school started to take a toll on my life. By my final year of residency, I was exhausted and on the verge of an ulcer. Years of looking after everyone else and letting my own health suffer brought me to a crisis point. Realizing the need for balance in my life, I took early retirement.
Soon after that, my husband and I decided to start our family. I loved motherhood and went on to have 7 children. However, again, my health took a beating. I gained over 40 pounds with each pregnancy and struggled to take it off afterwards. By the time my youngest was out of diapers, I was completely worn out, battling constant colds and flus, and carrying far too many extra pounds.
In 2004, our family faced the crisis of a major illness in one of their children. It was at this time that I realized that for myself and for my family, I needed to make significant health changes. I began to immerse myself in research on wellness and discovered a whole new outlook. My medical training had taught me about disease but the new information I was studying, taught me how to create HEALTH!
Step-by-step I began making changes in my own life and the life of my family. What happened over the next few months was amazing. My energy increased, I no longer struggled with constant sickness and the extra weight I carried began to melt away. Excited by these changes, I began to share what I had learned with others. This has now become my mission and my purpose. I am passionate about helping other women lose or maintain a healthy weight, amp up their energy, and decrease their risk of disease.
My flagship programs, “101-Days Get Healthy Program” and “101-Days Get Healthy Program - Weight Loss Edition" empowers women to take control of their health and if need be to lose or manage weight gain. This online program provides education and support through daily emails, videos and resources that will empower a healthy you. Group coaching and one-on-one coaching is also available.
