When I was a young woman in my late teens I discovered that I could lose unwanted pounds by simply not eating. My fear of being over-weight caused me to develop a pattern of skipping meals in an effort to keep the scale where I wanted it. I would often snack late in the evening, unconsciously making up for what I had not eaten during the day. I continued that practice into my married life and through the years as I raised my children.My health suffered and I realize now that what I was actually doing was sacrificing my health to have a slender body.

"I started not really knowing what to expect or how to realistically set my goals, as it had become very difficult over the years to take any weight off at all and I was scared to even try. It seemed to stick like glue. I was a professional student when it came to weight loss, and had studied all avenues of it for years.

I was past the point of just wanting to look good. I needed to feel good and to be healthy. I determined that if the weight loss happened as a result of doing what it took for me to be healthy, I would be thrilled. As a very devoted, full time mother of four, I determined that I would make myself a serious priority for a change. Rather than my weight loss journey being about what I couldn’t have, it was going to be about what I COULD have.
